Easter

|
I created this as an HDR image using 13 shots. I wanted try this as an experiment, instead of the normal 3 bracketed shots. I was also using a 50 mm 1.8 lens that was completely manual, so using that, along with and ISO 100, I was able to create a narrow depth of field that I thought would be interesting. I started the first shot at a shutter speed of 1/4000 and the last shot was at 1/250. After creating this as an HDR image, I applied a filter called diffuse glow, which gave the image a lot of the look it had. I also upped the vibrance a little.

I shot this instead of something such as a cross or such for what I think easter is, because this shows easter as a commercialized holiday. The eggs almost seem to me like christmas lights, which to me also shows a lot of the commercialization of holidays.

Lost America

While we are on the subject of night photography, I happened to come across this site.
This site is all done with the moon as the lightsource and gels to help luminate the settings. I think it is an interesting way of doing this type of photography and opens a new direction to what can be done!

Spelunking!

|

This past weekend, I spent time in the Tongue River Cave! This was a very fun trip to go on, as I have never done it before. The cave is located in Dayton, WY about a half hour from sheridan. It was very hard to photography because it was so dusty and dark. These photos are by no means great, but they show what this awesome feature is!

Semester at Sea

Semester@Sea

I am planning on going on a study abroad called semester at sea next spring. During this time I will be traveling to 11 countries. There will be many opportunities on this trip to take great photos, and this site can give a good picture of this experience. I was wanting a taste of what type of photos have been taken from the trip and these were very well done.
